Job summary

The Grand - York, part of Splendid Hospitality Group, is seeking a Duty Manager to lead front office operations and deliver exceptional guest experiences. This part-time role covers 20 hours per week, based at The Grand - York, with a focus on luxury service and team leadership.

You will oversee day-to-day operations, support departments, and uphold safety and standards while delivering memorable experiences for guests.

Responsibilities

• Leading day-to-day operation of the hotel, providing visible support across departments and ensuring exceptional guest experiences at every stage of the guest journey.
• Welcoming VIP guests, resolving guest concerns with confidence and professionalism, making informed decisions to protect guest experience and business integrity.
• Working with Front Office leadership to ensure smooth daily operations, communicating across departments and supporting colleagues to achieve operational excellence.
• Promoting a safe environment by conducting hotel inspections, supporting emergency procedures and upholding health, safety and company standards.
• Inspiring the team by leading from the front, sharing knowledge, encouraging high performance and fostering a positive, collaborative environment.

The Grand, York is looking for an exceptional Duty Manager to help deliver outstanding guest experiences and ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of our five-star hotel. You'll lead from the front, support colleagues across the business and make confident decisions that maintain the exceptional standards our guests expect. Our Duty Managers are at the heart of our operation, ensuring every guest receives the warm, personalised service that defines The Grand, York. Here's what you'll be doing:

• Helping to lead the day-to-day operation of the hotel, providing visible support across departments and ensuring exceptional guest experiences at every stage of the guest journey.
• Welcoming our VIP guests, resolving guest concerns with confidence and professionalism, and making informed decisions that protect both the guest experience and the integrity of the business.
• Working closely with the Front Office leadership team to ensure smooth daily operations, communicating effectively across departments and supporting colleagues to achieve operational excellence.
• Promoting a safe and secure environment by carrying out hotel inspections, supporting emergency procedures and ensuring health, safety and company standards are consistently upheld.
• Inspiring and supporting the team by leading from the front, sharing knowledge, encouraging high performance and fostering a positive and collaborative working environment.
