Job summary

Shropshire Community Leisure Trust is hiring a Duty Manager at Oswestry Leisure Centre. You will oversee day-to-day operations, ensure activities run safely, and lead a team across early, late and weekend shifts.

This 9-month FTC is part-time (20.5 hours per week) on a 3-week rota. The role offers a chance to support healthier, happier communities and to develop your leadership and customer service skills within a supportive leisure environment.

• Strong commitment to safety, customer care and service excellence.
• Ability to lead and motivate colleagues while maintaining high operational standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage the facility on a day-to-day basis, ensuring activities are delivered safely and to a high standard.
• Lead, deploy and support operational colleagues, ensuring duties are allocated and completed effectively.
• Promote and maintain a strong health and safety culture, ensuring compliance with policies and relevant legislation.
• Respond confidently to emergency situations, taking control and ensuring appropriate action.
• Deliver excellent customer service and build positive relationships with customers, partners and stakeholders.
• Monitor operational performance and contribute to continuous improvement using performance data and KPIs.

What you’ll do as a Duty Manager

• Manage the facility on a day-to-day basis, ensuring activities are delivered safely and to a high standard.

Vetting and checks:

This role requires a Basic DBS check, which will disclose any unspent convictions in line with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to help us identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
