Job summary

Global Talent 2020 Limited is seeking a hands-on Duty Manager for a premium Edinburgh city-centre restaurant. You will lead front-of-house teams, support the Restaurant and General Manager, and drive outstanding guest service with a clear, customer-facing leadership style.

The role requires strong stock awareness, rota planning, H&S compliance, staff coaching, and familiarity with EPOS systems. You will also manage events, multi-task in a busy environment, and aim for right-first-time engagement

Job description

Global Talent 2020 are proudly working with one Scotland's best award-winning, upmarket City centre quality Restaurant operators. They are looking for a passionate F&B-oriented Duty Managers for their beautifully positioned, quality-focused, iconic city centre restaurant venue.

The role:

Global Talent 2020's client will require the Duty Manager to support the Restaurant and General Manager in leading the diverse teams across this busy, mainly day venue. This well-appointed food and drink concept will require a Duty Manager candidate with proven hands-on restaurant floor operational experience. You will need to be comfortable being very customer-facing and lead by example. Possessing an eye for detail, possess good commercial nous, and sound people soft skills.

You will manage the staff across all front/back of house of the restaurant as required when on shift. Some clear understanding of stock controls, rota management, health &safety, training, coaching and development of others, understanding of EPOS systems, as well as first-class communication skills are prerequisites for this exciting, fast-paced new role.

The person:

Our client at Global Talent 2020, is looking for a hands-on approach type person, with an engaging personality. Whilst being a focused, well-organised supervisor of day-to-day operations. Exhibiting a positive attitude and care for what they do is also highly desired. Commercially, the right candidate must have good up-selling skills at the table in front of patrons.

This is a multi-tasking, challenging role, in an amazingly presented environment. Quality service understanding of all areas of a volume bar and restaurant operation, are also skill sets required by Global Talents 2020 client, as is Events understanding, as the venue has busy private functions throughout the year.

Our client requires the ideal Duty Manager with "right first time" engagement with customers, and colleagues alike. This role would ideally suit a current Assistant Manager applicant, or Floor Supervisor, looking to step up into a larger venue, with added diverse responsibilities.

The opportunity is with Global Talent 2020, a long-established, highly respected Scottish operator. They offer an excellent base salary package, a highly lucrative tronc structure, and 44 hrs a week, 5/7 days off rota structure.

Package Salary £31k TO £32k DOE plus £6K Tronc, and company benefits.
