Job summary

Agincare's not-for-profit children's services are opening two residential homes and need a manager to lead both from the start. The post holder would run daily operations, build team culture and care practice, and prepare both homes for registration and Ofsted inspection.

This dual registered manager role requires a Level 5 leadership qualification and experience in leading Ofsted inspections, with a focus on safeguarding and high-quality care delivery.

Qualifications

• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) or equivalent
• 3+ years in children's residential care, including leadership/managerial experience
• Experience leading Ofsted inspections

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the two children's residential homes
• Lead and support staff teams to create a safe, positive and inclusive environment
• Establish and develop the new services from opening
• Create positive team cultures and implement care practices
• Prepare both homes for registration and Ofsted inspection
• Ensure high-quality care delivery and regulatory compliance
• Plan and implement care plans and maintain documentation to a high standard
• Help shape and embed best practice across both homes from the outset

Job description

It is a dual registered manager role, so one person covers two services under a single registration arrangement. Candidates need a Level 5 leadership qualification and experience of leading Ofsted inspections.

What’s required

Qualifications

• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) or equivalent

Experience

• At least 3 years in children's residential care, including at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role
• Planning and implementing care plans and keeping documentation to a high standard under the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and quality standards
• Supporting children and young people with learning disabilities who may display complex behaviours
• Leading Ofsted home inspections

Skills & knowledge

• In-depth knowledge of safeguarding, Ofsted regulations and relevant children's services legislation

Checks & eligibility

• Enhanced DBS check
• Declaration of all convictions, cautions, reprimands and warnings, subject to DBS filtering
• Comprehensive vetting in line with safer recruitment standards
