Job summary

Purosearch Ltd is seeking a Dual Registered Manager for two Ofsted-rated Good children's residential homes in the UK. The role leads across both sites, developing care plans to meet education, health and emotional needs while ensuring safeguarding and high standards of care.

The position emphasises strong leadership, budgeting and collaboration with families and professionals to drive positive outcomes for children with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years' experience in residential childcare, including supervisory experience.
• Level 3 qualification in Children's Residential Care is essential.
• Level 5 Leadership and Management in Residential Childcare preferred; enrol within six months if not achieved.
• Knowledge of Quality Standards, SCCIF, childcare legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Full UK manual driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage both children's homes, ensuring high standards of care.
• Develop and maintain care plans addressing education, health, social and emotional needs.
• Recruit, develop and retain a motivated staff team with supervision.
• Ensure safeguarding, regulatory compliance and effective risk management.

Location: Telford
Salary: £60,000–£65,000 per annum, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the leadership and effective management of both children's residential homes.
• Lead services supporting children and young people with learning disabilities, autism, epilepsy, complex needs and associated behaviours.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive care plans addressing each young person's care, education, social, emotional, cultural, therapeutic and health needs.
• Ensure children's wishes, feelings, communication needs and individual identities are central to the care provided.
• Recruit, develop and retain a strong, stable and motivated staff team.
• Provide effective leadership, supervision and development to staff, ensuring consistent and high-quality practice.
• Establish and maintain high standards of care in line with the Quality Standards and each home's Statement of Purpose.
• Develop effective systems for consulting with young people and ensuring their views influence the care they receive.
• Allocate Key Workers and ensure care plans are implemented effectively.
• Manage complaints, safeguarding concerns and child protection matters appropriately.
• Work closely with parents, carers, social workers, local authorities and other professionals to promote positive outcomes.
• Attend and contribute to care planning, review meetings and other professional meetings.
• Ensure effective planning, organisation, budget control and resource allocation across both homes.
• Maintain a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment where children are supported to achieve their potential.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulatory requirements and safeguarding standards.
• Drive continuous improvement and maintain the homes' strong regulatory performance.

Requirements & Experience

• Genuine passion for improving the lives and outcomes of children and young people.
• Minimum two years' experience in a role relating to residential childcare, including at least one year in a supervisory position within the last five years.
• Level 3 qualification in Children's Residential Care – essential.
• Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare – preferred. If not already achieved, candidates must enrol within six months of starting.
• Knowledge of the Quality Standards, SCCIF, childcare legislation and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Experience supporting children with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties and managing challenging behaviour.
• Understanding of the needs of children with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs.
• Strong leadership, organisational and team-management skills.
• Ability to effectively plan, manage budgets and allocate resources.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
• Full UK manual driving licence.
