Job summary

Orion Smart Metering is recruiting for Dual Fuel Smart Meter Engineers to support nationwide contracts in the UK. You will install smart meters in domestic properties and provide a professional, customer-focused service, ensuring high standards of safety and compliance.

Required qualifications include CMA1/CCN1/MET1, MOCOPA (or induction), and a Full UK driving licence; DBS up to date is preferred. A company van, fuel card, tools, and uniform are provided, with optional weekend work after

Qualifications

• Smart Meter Engineering qualification or diploma.
• CMA1 or CCN1 & MET1.
• MOCOPA certification (or completed during induction).
• Full UK driving licence.
• Clean DBS check (recent within 3 months preferred).
• EUSR card (advantageous, not essential).

• Install smart meters safely and efficiently in domestic properties.
• Deliver a professional, customer-focused service.
• Ensure all work meets industry safety and compliance standards.
• Represent Orion Smart Metering as part of a nationwide engineering team.

Job description

At Orion Smart Metering, we’re proud to work with some of the UK’s biggest energy and metering companies.

As we continue to grow our national contracts, we’re looking for experienced Dual Fuel Smart Meter Engineers to join our expanding team.

The Dual Fuel Smart Meter Engineer needs to live in the following postcodes: TS1-2, TS16-29.

Pay & Package Options

• Salary Package: £45,000 per annum; 33 days holiday (including bank holidays); Company van, fuel card, tools & uniform provided


• Guaranteed Day Rate – Option 1: £200 per day; Paid via Umbrella PAYE; Company van, fuel card, tools & uniform provided


• Guaranteed Day Rate – Option 2: £275 per day; Paid via Umbrella PAYE; Engineer provides own van & fuel; Tools & uniform provided

Bonus Breakdown

• KPI Bonus – £150 per month; Achieved by hitting 75% job completion in a calendar month


• Attendance Bonus – £150 per month; Awarded for full attendance with no sick days; Pro-rated for holidays

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm (1-hour lunch); Minimum 4 jobs per day / 20 per week; Optional weekend work available once weekly targets are met


• Call Out: 1 week in 4 rota; Standby payments Monday–Sunday; Per job rates: £150 per dual install; £80 per single; £50 per transactional job; Saturday work available (paid at day rate)
