Job summary

Orion Smart Metering is hiring a Dual Fuel Smart Meter Engineer to join our nationwide team. You will install smart meters in domestic properties, deliver a professional, customer-focused service and ensure safety and compliance standards.

Applicants should hold a Smart Meter qualification or diploma, CMA1/CCN1 & MET1, MOCOPA, a full UK driving licence and a current DBS check. EUSR is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Smart Meter Engineering qualification or diploma.
• CMA1 or CCN1 & MET1.
• MOCOPA certification (or completed during induction).
• Full UK driving licence.
• Clean DBS check (recent within 3 months preferred).
• EUSR card (advantageous, not essential).

Job description

At Orion Smart Metering, we’re proud to work with some of the UK’s biggest energy and metering companies.

As we continue to grow our national contracts, we’re looking for experienced Dual Fuel Smart Meter Engineers to join our expanding team.

The Dual Fuel Smart Meter Engineer needs to live in the following postcodes: KT.

Pay & Package Options

• Salary Package

  £45,000 per annum.

  33 days holiday (including bank holidays)

  Company van, fuel card, tools & uniform provided

• Guaranteed Day Rate – Option 1

  £200 per day

  Paid via Umbrella PAYE

  Company van, fuel card, tools & uniform provided

• Guaranteed Day Rate – Option 2

  £275 per day

  Paid via Umbrella PAYE

  Engineer provides own van & fuel

  Tools & uniform provided

Bonus Breakdown

• KPI Bonus – £150 per month
• Attendance Bonus – £150 per month
• Awarded for full attendance with no sick days
• Pro-rated for holidays

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm (1‑hour lunch)
• Minimum 4 jobs per day / 20 per week
• Optional weekend work available once weekly targets are met

Call Out

• 1 week in 4 rota
• Standby payments Monday–Sunday
• Per job rates:
• £150 per dual install
• £80 per single
• £50 per transactional job
• Saturday work available (paid at day rate)
