Job summary

The Supply Register is seeking a DT Technician to support the Design & Technology department in a school setting in the United Kingdom. The role focuses on preparing materials, tools, and equipment for practical DT lessons and maintaining workshop areas.

You will assist teaching staff during lessons, monitor stock, and ensure all equipment is cleaned, maintained, and stored safely, in line with health and safety guidelines. DBS enhanced clearance is preferred or willingness to obtain one.

Qualifications

• Experience as a DT Technician or similar workshop role.
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures.
• Enhanced DBS via Update Service or willing to obtain it.
• Two professional references covering the last 24 months.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Prepare materials, tools and equipment for practical DT lessons.
• Maintain and organise workshops, classrooms and storage areas.
• Ensure equipment is cleaned, maintained and stored safely.
• Assist teaching staff during practical lessons where required.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering materials and equipment.
• Carry out routine maintenance of machinery and tools in line with health and safety guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH and school procedures at all times.
• Dispose of waste materials safely and maintain a clean working environment.
• Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role as requested by the Head of Department or School Leadership Team.
