Job summary

Queensmead School is seeking a Design & Technology Technician to support the DT Department. The successful candidate will set up, operate and maintain workshop equipment, including laser cutting and 3D printing, and prepare resources for lessons across wood, metal and plastic disciplines.

Hours are 36 per week, Monday to Thursday 8:00–15:45 and Friday 8:00–15:30, term time plus one week. Part-time would be considered. December 2026 start with a comprehensive induction and staff benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience with workshop equipment and machinery in an educational setting.
• Familiarity with laser cutting and 3D printing technologies for lessons.
• Ability to prepare resources and order supplies for DT lessons.

Responsibilities

• Support the Design & Technology Department in day-to-day workshop activities.
• Set up, operate and maintain workshop machinery and tools.
• Prepare resources and equipment for lessons across woods, metals and plastics.
• Assist staff and students; support procurement of supplies as needed.
