Job summary

DHL Supply Chain in Swansea is seeking a Driver's Mate to support our drivers in delivering goods safely and on time. You will assist with loading, unloading and coordinating deliveries, while keeping up with our fast-paced workload.

The role is a 6 month fixed term contract with 3-day shifts (Wednesday to Friday). On-site parking, staff discounts and pension benefits are included as part of a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Physically fit due to manual handling
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage workload
• Can perform simple maths calculations
• Flexible and adaptable to varying shifts and tasks
• Experience as Driver's Mate or similar role is a plus

Responsibilities

• Assist drivers with loading supplies and ensuring loads are secure
• Assist with unloading deliveries at customers' premises or homes
• Maintain communication with transport team and report issues
• Complete required processes on electronic handheld device

A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE

• Coordinating the picking and loading of alcohol / white goods / furniture onto your assigned vehicle prior to delivery
• Accompanying and assisting driver with unloading deliveries at licensed premises or homes
• Staying in touch with the transport team to advise of any problems
• Completing relevant processes on an electronic handheld device

this Role Would Suit People Who

• Are physically fit as the role involves lots of manual handling
• Have previous experience of working with volume orders
• Have excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage their own workload
• Can perform simple maths calculations
• Previous experience as a Driver's Mate, within a similar environment would be ideal but isn't a deal breaker!
