Job summary

Driver Hire Edinburgh West (West Lothian) is currently recruiting reliable and hardworking Driver's Mates to join a furniture delivery team. You will assist a van driver to deliver flat-pack furniture to customers' homes, handle loading and unloading, and provide friendly customer service.

The role includes working one of two patterns: Sunday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Saturday, with an 11-week temp-to-perm path and a 1-hour unpaid lunch break each day.

Qualifications

• Previous delivery or manual handling experience is desirable.
• Physically fit with ability to lift heavy items daily.
• Positive attitude and good customer service.
• Reliable, punctual and works well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist the van driver with delivering flat-pack furniture to residential properties.
• Load, unload and carry furniture into customers' homes.
• Work as part of a team to ensure deliveries are completed safely and efficiently.

Driver's Mate / Furniture Delivery Assistant

£13.00 per hour

Driver Hire Edinburgh West is currently recruiting reliable and hardworking Driver's Mates to join our client's furniture delivery team.

You’ll be working alongside a van driver to deliver flat-pack furniture directly to customers' homes, helping to ensure deliveries are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

The Role

• Assist the van driver with delivering flat-pack furniture to residential properties.
• Load, unload and carry furniture into customers' homes.
• Work as part of a team to ensure deliveries are completed safely and efficiently.
• Provide friendly and professional customer service at every delivery.
• Ensure furniture is handled carefully and delivered to the correct locations.
• Follow all health and safety procedures.

What We're Looking For

• Previous delivery or manual handling experience is desirable.
• Physically fit and comfortable with heavy lifting on a daily basis.
• A positive attitude with excellent customer service skills.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work well as part of a team.
• Good communication skills and a willingness to help wherever needed.

Working Pattern

You will work one of the following schedules:

• Sunday to Wednesday
• Wednesday to Saturday

Hours will be discussed at interview.

11-week temp-to-perm opportunity - potential for permanent employment.

1-hour unpaid lunch break provided each working day.
