Job summary

DHL Supply Chain in Doncaster, DN3 3FF, is hiring for a Driver's Mate on a permanent, full-time basis. Pay rate £32,883.62 with shifts 5 on 2 off, 4 on 2 off, 4 on 2 off starting at 06.00am.

You will assist the driver with loading/unloading, keep customers updated on delivery progress, and liaise with the transport team. Manual handling and basic maths are part of the daily tasks.

Qualifications

• Physical fitness required due to manual handling.
• Experience with high-volume orders is preferred.
• Organizational skills to manage workload and deadlines.
• Ability to perform simple maths calculations.
• Previous Driver's Mate experience in a similar environment is ideal but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating the picking and loading of goods onto your assigned vehicle prior to delivery.
• Accompanying and assisting driver with unloading deliveries at licensed premises or homes.
• Keeping customers up to date on the progress of their delivery.
• Staying in touch with the transport team to advise of any problems.
• Completing relevant processes on an electronic handheld device.

THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT PEOPLE WHO

• Are physically fit as the role involves lots of manual handling
• Have previous experience of working with volume orders
• Have excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage their own workload
• Can perform simple maths calculations
• Previous experience as a Driver's Mate, within a similar environment would be ideal but isn't a deal breaker!
