Job summary

DHL Supply Chain in Totton is seeking a Driver's Mate to support our drivers in delivering goods safely and on time. You will assist with loading and unloading, coordinate with the transport team, and help ensure accurate handling on our routes.

Ideal candidates are physically fit, hold a Cat B licence with minimal points, and have experience handling high-volume orders. This is a permanent, full-time role based in Totton.

Qualifications

• Must be physically fit for manual handling.
• Experience working with large volume orders.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage own workload.
• Able to perform simple maths calculations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate picking and loading of goods prior to delivery.
• Assist driver with unloading deliveries at customer premises.
• Stay in touch with transport team to report problems.
• Record relevant information on an electronic handheld device.

Shift patterns: Monday to Friday Start times 04:00 - 06 :00 5 Contracted Saturdays throughout the year

We're now looking for a Driver's Mate to play a key role assisting our drivers to deliver goods safely and on time.

A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE

• Coordinating the picking and loading of alcohol onto your assigned vehicle prior to delivery
• Accompanying and assisting the HGV driver with unloading deliveries at licensed premises
• Staying in touch with the transport team to advise of any problems
• Completing relevant processes on an electronic handheld device

THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT PEOPLE WHO

• Are physically fit as the role involves lots of manual handling
• Have previous experience of working with volume orders
• Have excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage their own workload
• Can perform simple math's calculations
• Previous experience as a Driver's Mate, within a similar environment would be ideal but isn't a deal breaker!
• Full valid driving licence Cat B (Car Licence) Desirable
• No more than 6 points
