Job summary

West Midlands Police is seeking a Driver Trainer to design, deliver and evaluate driver training across the force, ensuring learners gain knowledge, skills and confidence to meet driving standards in policing.

The role requires keeping training current, maintaining operational competence and contributing to the continuous improvement of driver training. Shift patterns are Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:00.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver driver training programmes meeting College of Policing Curriculum and organisational requirements.
• Assess learner performance and provide constructive feedback and development plans.
• Research and maintain current knowledge of legislation, guidance and policing procedures to ensure training remains accurate and effective.
• Create a safe, inclusive learning environment adapting teaching and communication methods to meet individual learner needs.
• Maintain professional and operational competence, contributing subject‑matter expertise and the development and evaluation of wider learning products.
