Job summary

Veolia UK is seeking a driver based in Stoke-on-Trent. The role involves starting at 4am with average 48 hours per week across Monday to Friday, delivering essential waste services to local communities.

You will drive to planned locations, complete daily vehicle checks, and ensure all paperwork is current. A Class 2 licence, CPC, and Digi/Tachograph card are essential, with experience in waste management desirable.

Qualifications

• Class 2 (Cat C) driving licence is essential.
• CPC and Digi/Tachograph Card up to date.
• Waste management experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Drive to planned collection locations and move/empty multiple commercial waste containers.
• Input all information into the onboard system; keep paperwork up to date.
• Perform daily vehicle checks as per driver operator handbook.
• Comply with traffic laws and load weight restrictions.
• Leave carriageway clean; promptly clean any spillages.

Single person Daily Allowance: Paid Dependant on the Route £41.16

Hours: Average of 48 hours per week, Monday to Friday - 4am starts

Some days you will be asked to start later so you must be flexible with working hours

What you'll be doing

• Driving to planned collection locations and moving / emptying multiple commercial waste containers
• Ensuring all information is input into the onboard system and all paperwork is kept up to date and submitted daily
• Completing daily checks of the vehicle as per our driver operator handbook
• Complying with all traffic laws and legislation including and weight of loads
• Ensuring that the carriageway is left in a clean condition and any spillages are cleaned up

What we're looking for

Essential

• Class 2 (Cat C) license
• Up to date CPC
• Digi / Tachograph Card

Desirable

• Previous waste management experience
• RORO and Skip experience
• Mobile compaction RCV / FEL
