Job summary

GAP GROUP is seeking a Driver Labourer to join our Non-Mechanical Division. Based at the depot, you will keep the workshop and yard tidy, clear hazards and ensure tools are stored correctly.

You will pressure-clean equipment before it leaves the depot and assist with loading, delivering and collecting hire gear to customer sites. On client sites you may demonstrate equipment and complete the necessary checks and admin for hires.

Qualifications

• Experience in a labourer role, preferably in a hire depot/yard.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail.
• Strong team player who can support colleagues with additional tasks.

Responsibilities

• Keep workshop and yard areas clean and hazard-free.
• Ensure tools are stored correctly and that equipment leaving the depot is pressure cleaned.
• Load, deliver and collect hire equipment to and from customer sites.
• Demonstrate hire equipment on customer sites and complete checks and admin for hires.

Our nationwide Non-Mechanical Division offers the latest, industry-leading Non-Mechanical Plant equipment including pedestrian / crowd control barriers, temporary security fencing, trench boxes, bogmats, magnetic rail barriers, road plates and more.

The Role:

Working in the heart of the depot, the Driver Labourer is responsible for keeping the workshop and yard areas clean and tidy whilst ensuring those areas are clear of any hazards and that tools are store away correctly. The Driver Labourer is also responsible that any equipment leaving the depot has been pressure cleaned and ready for the customer. As a Driver Labourer your role will also include loading, delivering and collecting hire equipment to and from the customer sites in a timely and professional manner. When on customer sites, there may be a requirement to carry out hire equipment demonstration and you must ensure that all relevant checks and administration involved for the hire are completed accurately.

Successful candidates should demonstrate the following:

• Previous experience working in a labourer role, preferably within a hire depot/yard environment
• Strong team player who is willing to support their colleagues with additional tasks when required
• Ability to work to own initiative in a fast-paced depot environment whilst maintaining a high attention to detail
• Full driving licence is essential and a CSCS card and forklift licence is preferable
