Job summary

GAP Group Ltd. in London region is seeking a Regional HGV Driver to transport our plant and equipment efficiently across the assigned region. Based from a home depot, you will cover sickness and holiday relief and may stay away from home when required.

You will train fellow HGV drivers on safe loading and unloading, receive NPORS qualification in loading, and work within a nationwide plant and tools division that prioritises safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in HGV driving, loading, delivering and collecting heavy plant equipment.
• Valid Class 2 driving licence with Driver CPC and a current Digital Tachograph card.
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety protocols.
• Excellent customer service and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

About the role

The Role

Our nationwide Plant and Tool division hires a range of equipment including diggers, dumpers and small power tools to companies within the construction, utilities and infrastructure sectors.

The Regional HGV Driver is responsible for transporting our plant and equipment quickly and efficiently around their assigned region. Based out of a home depot you will travel throughout the region covering for sickness and holidays, or where additional resource is required. You will also be responsible for training existing HGV Drivers on safe loading and unloading of vehicles, training will be provided by RoSPA and you will receive an NPORS qualification in loading and unloading

As the role provides support across a region you will be provided with a company vehicle and fuel card and will be required to stay away from home if covering in remote areas.

About You

Applicants applying for the role of Regional HGV Driver should have/be:

• Significant experience working within an HGV driving role loading, delivering and collecting heavy plant equipment from customer sites is essential
• Class 2 driving licence, Driver CPC with a minimum of 35 hours completed and valid Digital Tachograph card
• An understanding of Health & Safety protocols and the ability to follow these guidelines in the workplace
• Excellent customer service skills and strong attention to detail
