Job summary

The GAP Group Limited is seeking a Regional HGV Driver to transport our plant and equipment across the assigned region. Based from a home depot, you will cover the region for sickness, holidays and additional resource needs, ensuring rapid and safe delivery of diggers, dumpers and small tools.

You will train existing HGV drivers on safe loading/unloading (training provided by RoSPA) and will receive an NPORS qualification.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in HGV driving, loading, delivering and collecting heavy plant equipment.
• Class 2 driving licence with Driver CPC and 35 hours completed; valid Digital Tachograph card.
• Understanding of Health & Safety protocols and ability to follow these guidelines in the workplace.
• Excellent customer service skills and strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Transport plant and equipment quickly and efficiently around the region.
• Based from a home depot, travel throughout the region to cover sickness, holidays and when extra resource is required.
• Train existing HGV drivers on safe loading and unloading; training provided by RoSPA and NPORS qualification attained.
• Provide a company vehicle and fuel card; stay away from home when covering in remote areas.

Our nationwide Plant and Tool division hires a range of equipment including diggers, dumpers and small power tools to companies within the construction, utilities and infrastructure sectors.

The Regional HGV Driver is responsible for transporting our plant and equipment quickly and efficiently around their assigned region. Based out of a home depot you will travel throughout the region covering for sickness and holidays, or where additional resource is required. You will also be responsible for training existing HGV Drivers on safe loading and unloading of vehicles, training will be provided by RoSPA and you will receive an NPORS qualification in loading and unloading.

As the role provides support across a region you will be provided with a company vehicle and fuel card and will be required to stay away from home if covering in remote areas.

About You

Applicants applying for the role of Regional HGV Driver should have/be:
