Job summary

Wolseley Group is seeking a Driver HGV C+E for Milton Keynes on the night shift. You will deliver items to various addresses, provide excellent customer service, and uphold health and safety standards.

This full-time role offers 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a salary of £46,637.50 plus bonus and benefits including annual leave and a strong pension scheme.

Qualifications

• A full, Class 1 HGV licence.
• Up-to-date knowledge of digital tachographs.
• Driver CPC.
• Experience with digital technology/handheld devices.
• Confidence interacting with customers and suppliers to build relationships.

Responsibilities

• Delivering a wide variety of items to different addresses and routes.
• Offering excellent Customer Service at all times.
• Building and maintaining excellent relationships with customers, ensuring they are positive ambassadors of the Wolseley brand.
• Ensuring all Health and Safety aspects are adhered to, performing daily vehicle/load checks and reporting defects.
• Liaising with the driving team and transport administration.
• Unloading and loading on customers' premises when required.

Responsibilities as a HGV Driver based in Milton Keynes

• Delivering a wide variety of items to different addresses and through different routes


• Offering excellent Customer Service at all times


• Building and maintaining excellent relationships with customers, ensuring they are positive ambassadors of the Wolseley brand


• Ensuring all aspects of Health and Safety are adhered to, carrying out a daily check on the vehicle, equipment and load for which you have responsibility and reporting any defects


• Working well within the transport team, including liaising with the driving team and the transport administration


• Unloading and loading on customers' premises, where required

Role Details

This is a full-time, permanent role working 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday, on the night shift.

Candidate Requirements

• A full, Class 1 HGV licence


• Up-to-date knowledge of digital tachographs

• Experience of using, or comfortable with learning, digital technology, i.e. handheld devices


• Confidence interacting with customers and suppliers to build effective relationships
