Job summary

Winsearch is seeking a Drill Machine Operator to join a well-established engineering manufacturer. The role focuses on setting and operating CNC milling machines, loading tooling, and producing precision components to engineering drawings. This is not a programming role.

Hours are Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm (37.5 hours), with pay £16.50-£18.50 per hour DOE. Candidates should have experience with ProtoTRAK controllers and stainless steel machining.

Qualifications

• Previous machining experience in engineering/manufacturing.
• Experience setting and operating CNC milling machines.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Confident using measuring equipment such as verniers, micrometers, gauges.
• Able to work accurately to tight tolerances.
• Health and safety awareness in machine shop.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate an XYZ SMX 4 milling machine.
• Use ProtoTRAK controller in daily operations.
• Load and secure materials, tooling and fixtures.
• Adjust tooling, machine settings and fixture offsets.
• Read, interpret and work from engineering drawings.
• Complete production and quality documentation accurately.

Drill Machine Operator

The Role

Our client is a well-established engineering manufacturer looking to recruit an experienced CNC Milling Machine Operator / Setter to join their production team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and operating the machine, loading materials and tooling, adjusting offsets and producing high-quality components to engineering specifications.

Please note: this is not a programming role. The role is focused on machine setting, operating, and machining components accurately.

Key Responsibilities

• Set and operate an XYZ SMX 4(Apply online only) milling machine.
• Use a ProtoTRAK / ProTRAK controller as part of day-to-day machine operation.
• Load and secure materials, tooling and fixtures.
• Adjust tooling, machine settings and fixture offsets as required.
• Read, interpret and work from engineering drawings.
• Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
• Experience operating CNC milling machines.
• Confident using measuring equipment such as verniers
• Good understanding of health and safety within a machine shop environment.
• Experience using a ProtoTRAK / ProTRAK controller.
• Experience machining of stainless steel or similar engineering materials.
