Job summary

INDWIN, a well-established precision engineering business, is recruiting a 5 Axis CNC Machinist for their Atherton facility. You will set, operate and edit programmes on large-format 5-axis CNC gantry mills, manufacturing precision components to tight tolerances from engineering drawings.

You will work in a modern manufacturing environment with overtime available and a strong team supporting delivery targets, health and safety, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Proven experience setting and operating 5-axis CNC gantry mills.
• Experience machining large-format or heavy components.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
• Strong understanding of tooling, feeds, speeds and machining strategies.
• Experience working to tight tolerances and demanding quality standards.
• Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem solving.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Set, operate and edit programmes on large-format 5-axis CNC machining centres.
• Manufacture precision components from engineering drawings and specifications.
• Machine a variety of materials to tight tolerances.
• Select and set tooling to achieve optimum performance and cycle times.
• Conduct in-process inspection using standard measuring equipment.
• Identify and resolve machining issues to maintain productivity and quality.
• Work closely with production and engineering teams to meet delivery targets.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and health & safety.

5 Axis CNC Machinist Location: Tameside Salary: £17 - 19.50 per hour Overtime Job Type: Permanent The Role We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established precision engineering business in Atherton that specialises in the manufacture of large, complex machined components for demanding industrial sectors. Due to continued growth and a strong order book, they are looking to add an experienced 5 Axis CNC Machinist to their manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a modern machining environment working on large-format components where quality and precision are paramount.

Key Responsibilities

• Set, operate and edit programmes on large-format 5-axis CNC machining centres
• Manufacture precision components from engineering drawings and specifications
• Machine a variety of materials to tight tolerances
• Select and set tooling to achieve optimum performance and cycle times
