Job summary

Nicholas Clarke Associates Ltd is seeking a Draughtsman (Sheet Metal) to join their Stoke-on-Trent team. You will convert 2D designs into robust 3D models using Autodesk Inventor and SolidWorks, optimizing for manufacturability and cost efficiency.

With 3+ years in sheet metal drafting and a strong eye for detail, you will collaborate with engineers to adapt designs for modern sheet metal processes and maintain precise design documentation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in sheet metal drafting.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks.
• Engineering discipline qualification desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Convert 2D designs to 3D designs using Autodesk Inventor and Solidworks.
• Optimize designs for manufacturing, increasing efficiency, material utilization, and alignment with new production technologies.
• Collaborate with the team to adapt designs for modern sheet metalworking processes.
• Ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective, with emphasis on modularity and production times.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date design documentation, including 3D models and technical drawings.

£34,000 - £40,000 + 33 days holiday + benefits.

Monday - Friday (8:00am - 4:30pm).

Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire.

A thriving business at the forefront of their engineering industry has an excellent opportunity for a Draughtsman to join their growing team. Designing and manufacturing a host of products, this business boasts a comprehensive, long standing market presence spanning across multiple decades.

Role Description

• Convert 2D Designs to 3D Designs using Autodesk Inventor and Solidworks.
• Optimize designs for manufacturing, increasing efficiency, material utilization, and alignment with new production technologies.
• Collaboration with the team to adapt designs for modern sheet metalworking processes.
• Ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective, with an emphasis on modularity, optimizing material utilisation and improving production times.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date design documentation, including 3D models and technical drawings.

Skills & Experience

• 3+ years' experience in Sheet Metal draughting.
• AutoCAD (2D) / Autodesk Inventor or Solidworks.
• Qualified in an engineering discipline (desirable but not essential).
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
