Job summary

Nicholas Clarke Associates Ltd is seeking a Draughtsman (Sheet Metal) to translate 2D designs into robust 3D models using Autodesk Inventor and SolidWorks. You will optimise for manufacturing efficiency and material usage while collaborating with the team to update drawings and documentation.

The role focuses on manufacturable, cost-effective sheet metal solutions, improving production times and supporting a growing, forward-thinking engineering business in Stoke-on-Trent.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in Sheet Metal draughting.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD (2D) and Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks.
• Engineering discipline degree is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Convert 2D designs to 3D using Autodesk Inventor and Solidworks.
• Optimize designs for manufacturing, improving material usage and production times.
• Collaborate to adapt designs for modern sheet metalworking processes.
• Ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective, with modularity in mind.
• Maintain up-to-date design documentation, including 3D models and drawings.
