Job summary

Optima UK Inc Ltd in Nottingham is expanding its drawing office and recruiting multiple CAD Draughtsmen across all levels to produce fabrication and general arrangement drawings for structural steel projects.

You will work closely with engineers, production and site teams to ensure designs are accurate, buildable and delivered on programme, with direct client liaison to resolve queries and ensure project requirements are met.

Qualifications

• Experience using 3D AutoCAD and Autodesk Advance Steel (essential).
• A background in structural steelwork, fabrication, or infrastructure projects (essential).
• Comfortable liaising directly with clients and external stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• A team player who can work well within a busy drawing office environment.
• Junior to advanced levels welcome; all applicants encouraged to apply.

Commutable from: Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield, Ilkeston, Long Eaton, Chesterfield, Loughborough and surrounding Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire areas

Salary: Up to £45,000 (dependent on experience)

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (standard office hours)

About the Role

As part of a strategic move to bring design work in-house that has previously been subcontracted, our client is expanding its drawing office and recruiting multiple CAD Draughtsmen across all levels, from junior to advanced. You'll be producing detailed fabrication and general arrangement drawings for structural steelwork projects, working closely with engineers, production, and site teams to ensure designs are accurate, buildable, and delivered on programme. This is a client-facing role, so you'll also liaise directly with clients and contractors to resolve queries and ensure designs meet project requirements. There's genuine scope to grow with the business as it builds out its in-house design capability.
