Job summary

Metro Rod Bedford, Luton & Watford is seeking a Reactive Drainage Engineer for a full-time permanent role across the LU, AL, MK postcode areas. Salary ranges £30,000–£42,000 with on-call, overtime and benefits.

You will deliver emergency drainage services, maintain CCTV capabilities, and uphold high standards of safety and customer service. The role involves serving commercial and domestic clients within FM, social housing, retail, and industrial sectors.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial & domestic drainage is essential.
• Experience in drain cleaning, drain repairs and patch lining.
• Drainage tickets including HPWJ, Confined spaces and CSCS.
• Experience with CCTV surveys and lining is an advantage.
• Positive, flexible and can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

• Carry out services associated with emergency drainage, cleaning, clearance, repair, installation and maintenance of customer assets.
• Deliver high standards of customer service and technical expertise.
• Operate in accordance with H&S and Quality procedures.
• Maintain high standards of company service, vehicles and equipment.
• Record completed work details via internal and client systems.
• Communicate effectively to ensure excellent service at all times.
• Cover normal hours and on-call out-of-hours on a rota basis with flexibility.

What’s involved?

• Carry out a range of services associated with our emergency services offering, cleaning, clearance, repair, installation and maintenance of our customer’s assets new and old
• Deliver a high standard of customer service and technical expertise
• Operate in accordance with H&S and Quality procedures
• Maintain a high standard of company service, vehicles and equipment
• Accurately record completed work details via internal and client systems
• Communicate effectively to ensure an excellent service is provided at all times
• Have a positive and helpful can-do attitude
• Cover normal working hours and on call out-of-hours on a rota basis and have a flexible attitude to covering emergency situations when called upon outside of the these periods

What do we look for?

Suitable candidates will be able to display a great working attitude together with skills pertaining to the clearance, cleaning and repair of both internal small bore and external drainage systems.

• Experience in commercial & domestic Drainage is essential
• Experience in drain cleaning, drain repairs, patch lining
• Drainage tickets including HPWJ, Confined spaces and CSCS
• Have experience with CCTV Surveys and Lining an advantage
• Will have a positive, flexible, can-do attitude

• Be willing to work occasional / unsociable hours
• Hold a full UK driving licence - must be over 21 for insurance purposes
• Must live in the postcode areas noted above
