Job summary

Sainsbury's is seeking a Customer Delivery Driver to bring groceries directly to customers’ doors with energy, warmth and care. You’ll drive a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van, perform vehicle checks and follow planned routes to ensure timely deliveries.

You'll be the face of the brand at customers’ doors, communicate clearly about delays, and assist in-store when not out delivering. This role supports a flexible, inclusive team environment.

Qualifications

• You must be over 18 years old with a full UK driving licence for at least 12 months and no more than 6 points.
• You will complete an online driving risk assessment as part of your interview.
• You must have Right to Work eligibility in the UK.
• Sainsbury’s uses in-cab AI cameras to monitor driving and safety.

Responsibilities

• Being the face of Sainsbury’s at every doorstep you deliver to, making customers feel valued.
• Driving a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van to deliver groceries on time and in good condition.
• Completing checks to ensure the van is roadworthy, clean and organized, and orders are secure before departure.
• Following planned routes and driving safely in varied locations and conditions.
• Moving containers up to 15kg and delivering to homes, including steps or lifts where needed.
• Communicating with customers and keeping them informed of delays or changes.
• Providing support across the store when not out delivering.
