Job summary

NHS Blood and Transplant is seeking an Event Assistant to support donor recruitment at a variety of venues, including shopping centres and workplaces. The role is on an as-and-when basis with variable hours, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays, and may require travel up to 15 miles from London.

A Standard DBS check is mandatory, and full training is provided. You don’t need a medical background; customer service experience is essential, as you will run Know Your Type events and blood

Qualifications

• Experience of working in a customer service environment is essential.
• Willing to travel up to 15 miles in and around London.
• Willing to undergo a Standard DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Register and book appointments for new blood donors at events.
• Set up and run Know Your Type events with blood type testing.
• Provide information about donation and donor processes.
• Report visitor numbers and sign-ups to the line manager.
• Handle equipment setup and safe disposal of sharps and waste.
