Here, employees and patients are at the heart of everything we do. We have exciting opportunities to join our Facilities department at Furness General Hospital as a Domestic Assistant, supporting the Trust in delivering a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Maintain high standards of cleanliness in clinical, public, and external areas using recognized cleaning methods.
2. Identify areas to be cleaned, plan, and organize cleaning schedules with relevant ward or departmental staff, ensuring safety is not compromised.
3. Operate cleaning equipment and machinery according to manufacturer’s instructions, ensuring proper maintenance and reporting faults immediately.
4. Undertake deep cleaning and isolation cleans following national and local guidelines.
5. Perform spot cleaning to swiftly and efficiently deal with spillages and incidents, supporting clinical staff as appropriate.
6. Adhere to all relevant COSHH assessments and Safety Data Sheets when handling cleaning chemicals.

Our hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatient services, diagnostics, therapies, day cases, and inpatient surgery. Additionally, we offer outreach services and diagnostics from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
