At our hospital, employees and patients are at the heart of everything we do. We have new opportunities in our Facilities department at Furness General Hospital for a Domestic Assistant to support the Trust in providing a clean and safe environment for all.

The role is 25 hours per week, from 7:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Main duties of the job

• Ensure high standards of cleanliness in clinical, public, and external areas using recognized cleaning methods.
• Identify areas to be cleaned, plan and organize cleaning schedules with relevant staff, ensuring safety for patients, staff, and visitors.
• Operate cleaning equipment safely, report faults immediately.
• Perform deep cleans and isolation cleans following guidelines.
• Carry out spill and incident cleaning promptly, with support from clinical staff as needed.
• Follow all COSHH assessments and safety data sheets when handling chemicals.
