Job summary

McCarthy & Stone is recruiting a Domestic Assistant for Lyle Court in Edinburgh. You will manage domestic tasks for homeowner apartments, laundry services, and cleaning of communal areas. You may assist in the Bistro during service times and provide lifestyle support to residents.

The role offers a 20-hour week with weekend work, in a Retirement Living Plus development that emphasises care outside traditional settings. We value a caring, reliable, and communicative approach.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer care or service roles in similar environments such as health & social care, hospitality, retail or domestic services.
• A caring personality with the desire to make a difference to people’s lives.
• Clear and confident communication skills; friendly and approachable demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Provide domestic support and housekeeping for homeowner apartments and communal areas.
• Assist with laundry services and support in the Bistro/Restaurant during service times.
• Offer lifestyle services to homeowners, including social support and accompany to appointments.

McCarthy & Stone are recruiting for a Domestic Assistant to join the team at our Retirement Living Plus development, Lyle Court in Edinburgh.

Set on Barnton Grove, adjacent to the iconic building of the former Barnton Hotel, Lyle Court is a beautiful Retirement Living Plus development of 73-one-and-two-bedroom apartments. This is not traditional care, this is better!

Hourly rate: £12.85 per hou (inclusive of weekend work)

Hours: 20 per week

About the role

As a Domestic Assistant, you will be responsible for the domestic support and housekeeping, of our homeowner apartments, their laundry service and cleaning or the development’s communal areas. You will support in the Bistro or Restaurant during service times and provide lifestyle services to our homeowners. These include, chaperoning homeowners to medical appointments, and/or other community related services, or simply offering social support. There are usually opportunities for overtime within nearby developments as well.
