Rock Recruitment is seeking skilled electricians for social housing contracts in Coventry. Roles are self-employed/contract, with a £275 per day rate, Monday to Friday and no out-of-hours calls. You will perform fault finding, installations, rewires, EICR testing, and EV charger work where applicable, in tenants' homes.

Candidates should have 2+ years as a qualified electrician and hold relevant City & Guilds/BS 7671 qualifications. A full kit, van, PPE, and insurance are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience as a qualified electrician.
• Domestic or social housing experience preferred.
• Relevant electrical qualifications as listed above.

Contract Electrician: Social Housing

Location: Coventry, Warwickshire. Pay Rate: £275 per day. Contract Type: Self-employed / Contract. Hours: Monday to Friday, no callouts. Qualifications: 18th Edition, AM2, 2391 (or equivalent).

About the Opportunity

Rock Recruitment is working with a well-established client to recruit skilled, self-employed electricians to join their network of contract engineers. They deliver repairs and maintenance in social housing, working in tenants' homes on behalf of housing providers. You'll play a key part in keeping tenants' homes safe, with fast fixes and high standards of electrical safety.

The Role

Working Monday to Friday with no out-of-hours or emergency callouts, you'll carry out a varied mix of work in social housing properties, including:

• Fault finding and repairs
• Installations and upgrades, such as replacing kitchen sockets
• Electrical connections to gas appliances and points
• Full and partial rewires
• Scheduled and planned works
• EICR testing, and EV charger installation where relevant to the job

You'll often be working in occupied homes, so good customer service matters. That means treating tenants with respect, diagnosing issues efficiently, aiming for first-time fixes, and giving clear, professional advice. All work must be safe, compliant and right first time.

About You

• Minimum 2 years' experience as a qualified electrician, ideally in domestic or social housing settings
• City & Guilds 2365 Parts 1 & 2 (or equivalent), including the Level 3 Technical Certificate and NET AM2
• NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent)
• BS 7671 Wiring Regulations (City & Guilds 2382, 18th Edition)
• City & Guilds #removed# (or equivalent) for inspection and testing: highly desirable
• Specialist EV charger certification: desirable
• Experience working in social housing or tenanted properties: desirable
