Job summary

Daniel Owen Ltd is recruiting an experienced Electrician to join a property maintenance team working across social housing properties in Stratford-upon-Avon and surrounding areas. The role offers a permanent contract, a salary of £40,000 per year, a 5% annual bonus, company van, fuel card, PPE and power tools, and an on-call rota.

Applicants must have NVQ Level 3 Electrical (2356 with AM2), City & Guilds 18th Edition, and a full UK driving licence with clean record.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 Electrical qualification, including 2356 with an AM2 portfolio.
• City & Guilds 18th Edition qualification.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than six points (driving licence mentioned as essential).
• Ability to pass a Basic DBS check.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Complete responsive electrical repairs and maintenance within occupied social housing properties.
• Aim to achieve a first-time fix wherever possible.
• Install, service and maintain electrical systems and appliances.
• Carry out electrical installation work in line with current IET Wiring Regulations.
• Inspect, test and repair electrical installations.
• Complete Electrical Installation Certificates and Electrical Installation Condition Reports accurately.
• Carry out EICRs and associated remedial works.
• Complete reactive maintenance work in line with agreed specifications.
• Identify when additional trades are required and report this promptly.
• Work alongside other operatives to complete works efficiently.
• Complete daily worksheets and record materials used.
• Deliver excellent customer service to residents and clients.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard.

Job description

Electrician, Social Housing Repairs

Location: Stratford-upon-Avon and surrounding areas
Salary: £40,000 per annum plus 5% annual bonus
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm
Benefits: Company van, fuel card, power tools and additional on-call payments

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrician to join a well-established property maintenance contractor, working across social housing properties throughout Stratford-upon-Avon and the surrounding areas.

This is a permanent position within a responsive repairs and maintenance team. Travel across the local patch will be required, so a full UK driving licence is essential.

The successful candidate will receive a salary of £40,000, a 5% annual bonus, company van, fuel card, PPE and power tools. There is also an on-call rota of approximately one week in every five to six weeks.

The Role

As an Electrician, your responsibilities will include:

• Completing responsive electrical repairs and maintenance within occupied social housing properties
• Taking ownership of work and aiming to achieve a first-time fix wherever possible
• Installing, servicing and maintaining electrical systems and appliances
• Carrying out electrical installation work in line with current IET Wiring Regulations
• Inspecting, testing and repairing electrical installations
• Completing Electrical Installation Certificates and Electrical Installation Condition Reports accurately
• Carrying out EICRs and associated remedial works
• Completing reactive maintenance work in line with agreed specifications
• Identifying when additional trades are required and reporting this promptly
• Working alongside other operatives to complete works efficiently
• Completing daily worksheets and recording materials used
• Delivering excellent customer service to residents and clients
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard

Essential Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

• NVQ Level 3 Electrical qualification, including 2356 with an AM2 portfolio to support your experience
• City & Guilds 18th Edition qualification
• Previous experience completing electrical repairs and maintenance
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than six points and no recent driving bans
• Ability to pass a Basic DBS check
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Relevant qualification combinations may include:

• City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1 and 2, plus NVQ Level 3 Certificate 2356
• Technical Certificates at Levels 2 and 3, plus NVQ Level 3 Certificate
• NVQ Level 3 2356 with supporting AM2 portfolio

Please note that an EAL qualification alone will not meet the essential requirements for this position.
