Job summary

2gether Support Solutions is hiring a part-time Domestic Assistant to join NHS hospital facilities teams in the East Kent area. Shift patterns include 11am-7pm and 7am-3pm across several days. No prior experience is required as training is provided to meet BICS standards.

You will maintain cleanliness and hygiene and support a safe hospital environment for patients, staff and visitors. The role emphasises teamwork, dependability, punctuality and the ability to work flexible shifts, including

Job description

2gether Support Solutions is a Facilities and Estates services company providing support to healthcare professionals caring for over 2000 patients daily across multiple East Kent hospital sites. 2gether provides vital services including maintenance, cleaning, catering, procurement, logistics and much more.

This is a Part-Time, 30-hour, 4-month Fixed-Term Contract from November 2026 to March 2027.

Available shift patterns are:

• 11am-7pm - Thursday to Sunday
• 11am-7pm - Monday, Tuesday & 2pm-10pm and Saturday, Sunday
• 7am-3pm - Monday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday

The Role:

Domestic assistants are more than just a cleaner, they are the lifeblood of the NHS and an integral part of the team, keeping hospitals, health centres, offices and other areas clean and hygienic. No previous experience is required and training will be provided inline with the BICS accreditation. You will maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the hospital, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Main duties

• Clean and sanitize patient rooms, bathrooms, corridors, and common areas.
• Follow infection control protocols to prevent cross-contamination.
• Dispose of waste safely and according to hospital guidelines.
• Restock cleaning supplies and report inventory needs.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel.

The Person:

• You will be physically fit, able to perform tasks requiring lifting, standing, and moving for extended periods.
• You should have high standards of cleanliness and hygiene with keen attention to detail.
• Strong teamwork skills, dependability with excellent punctuality, and flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays, are essential.
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills are also required to follow instructions and complete necessary documentation.
• A proficient level of reading, verbal, and written English is required for this role to ensure effective communication and job performance.
