Job summary

South Coast Nursing Homes is seeking a part-time Domestic Assistant at Berkeley Lodge in Worthing to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and assist with laundry services. The role covers 14 hours per week (Friday and Saturday, 8am–3pm).

You will keep the home clean and safe, assist with laundry, and support residents' comfort. Benefits include uniform, DBS, pension, and development opportunities within a growing care group.

Qualifications

• High standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the home.
• Clean residents' rooms daily after nursing staff have completed care; check flowers/plants and water/dispose as needed.
• Clean communal areas (mopping, vacuuming, dusting).
• Keep storage areas tidy and home safe by removing clutter.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high cleanliness and hygiene standards across the home.

• Provide clean, ironed laundry for clients as needed.
• Handle resident personal laundry with care and report repairs as required.

An opportunity has arisen within the South Coast Nursing Homes group for a Domestic Assistant at Berkeley Lodge in Worthing

Hours - 14hrs per week: Friday and Saturday - 8am - 3pm

The purpose of this role is to keep the home clean and safe, providing a superior service to our residents

• To provide a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the home at all times.
• To clean residents’ rooms thoroughly each day after nursing staff have completed their patient care. To check flowers and plants and water/dispose of as necessary.
• To clean communal area’s including mopping, vacuuming, dusting
• Ensuring the home is safe e.g removing clutter, keeping storage area’s tidy
• Shampoo carpets as and when needed.
• To present and provide clean and ironed laundry at all times, available for clients as needed
• To take particular care with resident’s personal laundry, to prevent accidental damage and present in well ironed state.
• To check resident’s personal laundry for tears, broken zips or lost buttons and refer to matron for discussion if a repair if necessary
