Job summary

South Coast Nursing Homes at Berkeley Lodge in Worthing is seeking a part-time Domestic Assistant. The role covers cleaning duties to a high standard, laundry tasks, and helping maintain a safe, comfortable home for residents. Hours are 14 per week, Friday and Saturday from 8am to 3pm.

You will contribute to a welcoming environment, clean resident areas daily, and support staff in keeping the home tidy. The package includes hourly pay, uniform, DBS, pension, and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• High standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the home.
• Daily cleaning of residents' rooms after nursing care and attention to flowers/plants.
• Cleaning of communal areas including mopping, vacuuming and dusting.
• Maintaining a safe home by removing clutter and keeping storage tidy.
• Shampoo carpets as needed.
• Ensure clean and ironed laundry is available for clients.
• Care for residents' personal laundry to avoid damage and ensure it is well pressed.
• Check residents' personal laundry for tears or damaged fastenings and escalate as needed.

An opportunity has arisen within the South Coast Nursing Homes group for a Domestic Assistant at Berkeley Lodge in Worthing

Hours - 14hrs per week: Friday and Saturday - 8am - 3pm

The purpose of this role is to keep the home clean and safe, providing a superior
service to our residents

• To provide a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the
  home at all times.
• To clean residents' rooms thoroughly each day after nursing staff have
  completed their patient care. To check flowers and plants and
  water/dispose of as necessary.
• To clean communal area's including mopping, vacuuming, dusting
• Ensuring the home is safe e.g removing clutter, keeping storage area's tidy
• Shampoo carpets as and when needed.
• To present and provide clean and ironed laundry at all times, available for clients as needed
• To take particular care with resident's personal laundry, to prevent accidental damage and present in well ironed state.
• To check resident's personal laundry for tears, broken zips or lost buttons and refer to matron for discussion if a repair if necessary
