Job summary

NHS Property Services is recruiting a Domestic Assistant on a 12-month fixed-term basis. The role is mobile across St Luke's Treatment Centre, South Wigston Health Centre and Oadby Walk-In Centre, with 15 hours per week, weekday mornings 6am–9am.

You will maintain high cleanliness standards, perform legionella flushing, handle waste, and preserve COSHH compliance. A full UK driving licence and a standard DBS check are required, with training and support provided for safe, efficient facilities

Qualifications

• Full, clean UK driving licence.

• Willingness to travel between sites for the fixed schedule.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness across healthcare facilities.
• Carry out legionella flushing procedures and record activity accurately.
• Safely handle and dispose of waste.
• Use and maintain cleaning equipment, including vacuums, floor machines and steam cleaners.
• Ensure compliance with COSHH requirements.
• Report equipment faults through NHSPS systems.
• Replenish cleaning supplies and consumables.
• Support a safe, hygienic and welcoming environment for patients, visitors and colleagues.

Job description

This is a 12-month fixed-term Domestic Assistant post in the Delivery Frontline team at NHS Property Services, covering St Luke's Treatment Centre, South Wigston Health Centre and Oadby Walk-In Centre. The work is keeping healthcare environments clean and safe to NHS National Cleaning Standards, including legionella flushing, waste handling and care of cleaning equipment. The post is mobile, so the 15 weekly hours mean moving between sites on weekday mornings from 6am to 9am, with some flexibility. A full UK driving licence and a standard DBS check are required.
