The Maples, Randlay Avenue, Telford, TF3 2LH, is seeking a Domestic Assistant (Homemaker) to maintain cleanliness in resident rooms and communal areas. You will assist with laundry tasks and ensure items are washed, ironed, and neatly stored, while understanding COSHH regulations and health & safety standards.

Join The Maples team under EQ Care Group to support a 70-bed nursing and dementia care setting. The role requires strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to work on a 7-day rota,

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in housekeeping (or equivalent).
• Willingness to complete NVQ2 if not already obtained.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work on a 7-day rota including weekends.
• Able to collaborate in a team and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Clean allocated rooms, furniture, fabrics, carpets and equipment.
• Maintain hygiene and cleanliness with Home Manager guidance.
• Represent The Maples brand professionally to residents, staff and visitors.
• Attend and contribute to team meetings.
• Perform additional duties to support home operations.

Role Overview

As a Domestic Assistant (Homemaker) at The Maples, you will be placed at the heart of the home along with the people that live here. You will be responsible for the general cleanliness and tidiness within the home as well as the communal areas. Part of your duties will be to assist those working within the laundry to ensure clothes are washed, ironed, and neatly put away for everyone that lives in The Maples. It is vital that you have some understanding of COSHH regulations.

Responsibilities and Duties

• To clean all allocated rooms, including furniture, fittings, fabric, carpets and equipment.
• To work in co-operation with the Home Manager in maintaining standards of hygiene and cleanliness within the Care Home.
• Represent The Maples brand by maintaining a professional and welcoming presence for all team members, residents, and visitors.
• Attend and actively contribute to team meetings.
• Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Home Manager to support the overall functioning of the home.

Skills, Qualifications and Abilities

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience within a similar environment desirable
• NVQ Level 2 in housekeeping (or equivalent) or a willingness to complete this qualification if not already obtained.
• Ability to work on a 7-day rota which will include weekends
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated and capable of working independently.
