Job summary

South Coast Nursing Homes in Worthing is seeking a Domestic/Laundry Assistant at Fernbank Residential Home. The role covers general cleaning, laundry services for residents, and ensuring a safe, tidy environment for our residents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the home at all times.
• Clean residents' rooms thoroughly each day after nursing staff have completed patient care; check flowers/plants and water/dispose as necessary.
• Clean communal areas including mopping, vacuuming, dusting.
• Ensure the home is safe by removing clutter and keeping storage areas tidy.
• Shampoo carpets as needed.
• Present and provide clean, ironed laundry for residents as required.
• Care for residents' personal laundry to prevent damage and ensure it is well ironed.

An opportunity has arisen within the South Coast Nursing Homes group for a Domestic/Laundry Assistant at Fernbank Residential Home in Worthing.

Hours: 21 hrs per week

WK 1 - Mon, Fri Sun all 8-3

WK 2 - Mon, Sat, Sun all 8-3

The purpose of this role is to keep the home clean and safe, providing a superior service to our residents.

• To provide a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the
  home at all times.
• To clean residents' rooms thoroughly each day after nursing staff have
  completed their patient care. To check flowers and plants and
  water/dispose of as necessary.
• To clean communal area's including mopping, vacuuming, dusting
• Ensuring the home is safe e.g removing clutter, keeping storage areas tidy
• Shampoo carpets as and when needed.
• To present and provide clean and ironed laundry at all times, available for clients as needed
• To take particular care with resident's personal laundry, to prevent accidental damage and present in well ironed state.
• To check resident's personal laundry for tears, broken zips or lost buttons and refer to matron for discussion if a repair if necessary
