Job summary

South Coast Nursing Homes is seeking a Domestic Assistant at White Lodge Residential Home, East Preston. The role focuses on keeping the home clean, safe, and comfortable for residents, with a 25-hour workweek from 9:00 to 14:00 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Hourly rates are £12.76 on weekdays and £13.40 on weekends, with benefits including uniform, DBS, pension, and training opportunities to support career progression.

Qualifications

• Experience in domestic cleaning in a care or similar setting.
• Ability to clean residents' rooms to a high standard.
• Ability to manage laundry and ironing for residents.
• Respectful and compassionate towards residents.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the home.
• Clean residents' rooms after nursing staff have completed care.
• Clean communal areas including mopping, vacuuming, and dusting.
• Ensure the home is safe by removing clutter and tidying storage areas.
• Launder and iron laundry for residents and manage personal laundry with care.

An opportunity has arisen within the South Coast Nursing Homes group for a Domestic Assistant at White Lodge Residential Home in East Preston.

Hours: 25 hrs per week, 9am-2pm every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday.

The purpose of this role is to keep the home clean and safe, providing a superior
service to our residents

• To provide a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the
  home at all times.
• To clean residents’ rooms thoroughly each day after nursing staff have
  completed their patient care. To check flowers and plants and
  water/dispose of as necessary.
• To clean communal area’s including mopping, vacuuming, dusting
• Ensuring the home is safe e.g removing clutter, keeping storage area’s tidy
• Shampoo carpets as and when needed.
• To present and provide clean and ironed laundry at all times, available for clients as needed
• To take particular care with resident’s personal laundry, to prevent accidental damage and present in well ironed state.
• To check resident’s personal laundry for tears, broken zips or lost buttons and refer to matron for discussion if a repair if necessary
