Job summary

Avante Care & Support’s Barnes Lodge Care Home is seeking a Domestic Assistant to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents. You’ll help maintain high hygiene standards, follow schedules, and support a homely atmosphere that prioritises dignity and wellbeing.

The role offers full-time hours, including alternating weekends, with competitive pay and a DBS check provided. You will join a team dedicated to compassionate care and resident happiness.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning experience is a bonus—but not essential.
• Basic understanding of hygiene standards (or willingness to learn).
• Reliable, organised, and take pride in your work.
• Respectful, caring, and mindful of working in a resident’s home.
• A team player who can also work independently.

Responsibilities

• Keep resident rooms, bathrooms, and shared spaces clean and inviting.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and infection control.
• Follow cleaning schedules and best practices.
• Replenish supplies and report maintenance issues.
• Use cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
• Help create a warm, welcoming atmosphere for residents, visitors, and colleagues.
• Work in line with health & safety and care home policies.
