An established industry player is seeking a compassionate Domestic Abuse Support Worker to join their Southampton Service. In this pivotal role, you will manage a caseload of survivors, providing essential support and guidance as they navigate their journey towards independence. South Hampshire Women’s Refuge is a safe space providing accommodation support for women and their children who are fleeing domestic abuse. We are committed to providing a safe, nurturing environment, ensuring each resident has access to the support and advice they need, and empowering them to understand their options and make decisions for their future. Our ultimate goal is for our residents to move on to independent accommodation with the skills and tools to live a safe and happy life free from domestic abuse.
This role sits within our Southampton Service, where we have a 10-bed refuge.
As our Domestic Abuse Support Worker, you’ll manage a caseload of survivors through their journey with Stonewater, ensuring a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach that enables them to realize their potential.
You will manage referrals into the service, undertake interviews and assessments, and notify potential customers of the outcomes of these activities. You will also induct new customers into the service and deliver quality, outcome-focused support sessions in both one-to-one and group settings.
The ideal candidate will have / be:
Due to the nature of the role, you will be flexible in your approach and willing to be part of the on-call rota.
Appointment to this role will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service check, satisfactory references, and possession of a valid Right to Work document.
