Job description

BCP Refuge Accommodation is made up of two locations offering a mixture of safe accommodation for victims of abuse, and their children, to escape and access support to help them rebuild their lives and live a life free from abuse.

The Refuge Accommodation Bournemouth offers self-contained and shared flats in a quiet location of Bournemouth.


Position:

The Refuge Support Worker is responsible for providing and co-ordinating support to customers in order to enable them to address personal safety issues around domestic abuse, to access legal options, to address support needs, realise aspirations and move towards independent living and work.

Requirements:

  2. enable customers to access local support services;
  3. engage customers in their own recovery and support planning;
  4. support customers to access move-on accommodation to continue their journey of safety and recovery;
  5. provide intensive personalised support and effective case management;
  6. support access to services including legal, mental health, sexual, domestic, drug & alcohol abuse;
  7. build professional working relationships - internally & externally;
  8. be a resilient, confident, calm, practical & pragmatic person;
  9. be self-motivated, proactive, assertive, empathic and non-judgemental;
  10. have good listening, questioning and written skills.
