Job summary

Bradford Children and Families Trust is seeking a Specialist Domestic Abuse Practitioner to support children, young people and families within the Family Help service in Bradford. You will deliver interventions, assessments and risk-reduction strategies to improve safety and outcomes.

You will work cross-agency with Social Care, Health, Education and Police, promoting trauma-informed practice and family-led solutions. A relevant professional qualification and CPD are essential.

Qualifications

• Specialist knowledge in domestic abuse within Family Help.
• Experience conducting assessments and developing risk plans.
• Proven ability to deliver targeted interventions to families and individuals.

Responsibilities

• Act as the specialist domestic abuse practitioner within Family Help, providing advice, consultation, and direct intervention.
• Undertake Family Help assessments and plans.
• Deliver targeted interventions with victims, children, and families, including those displaying harmful behaviours.
• Develop safety plans and implement risk-reduction strategies to safeguard children and adults.
• Contribute to Family Network Meetings and safeguarding processes.
• Support families to identify strengths and build resilience.
• Work with Social Care, Education, Health, Police, Housing, and DA services across Bradford.
• Promote trauma-informed, restorative, strengths-based practice.
• Maintain accurate case records and reports in line with Trust standards.
• Provide guidance and training to colleagues to strengthen DA practice.
