Job summary

Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) is seeking a Documentation Specialist for our Bangor, North Wales office. The entry-level role supports the QA team by reviewing engineering test files for regulatory compliance, compiling certification documents, proofreading, and conducting related research.

You will maintain knowledge of submission requirements for each jurisdiction, review documentation, and troubleshoot issues using manufacturer sources and past submissions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Law or a closely related discipline

Responsibilities

  • Review engineering test files for regulatory compliance
  • Compile certification documents
  • Proofread and conduct related research
  • Support QA by following certification process and jurisdiction requirements
  • Review engineering documentation and verify notations
  • Obtains and reviews engineering documentation via relevant systems
  • Maintains knowledge of requirements for each submission and jurisdiction
  • Troubleshoots issues using manufacturer documentation and past submissions
  • Uses a file tracking system (Protrack) and other systems to process QA issue reports
  • Generates draft certifications using report templates
  • Finalizes certifications and archives reports

What You Will Accomplish Here…

This is an entry level role and the Document Specialist I is responsible for reviewing Engineering test files for regulatory compliance, compiling certification documents, proofreading, and conducting related research.

This position will effectively support the QA team by focusing on the following:

  • Maintains an understanding of the certification compilation and research process, including methods for obtaining required information
  • Review’s engineering documentation and verifies required notations
  • Obtains and reviews engineering documentation via relevant systems
  • Maintains a knowledge of specific requirements for each submission and jurisdiction
  • Troubleshoots various issues by utilizing manufacturer documentation and researching previous submissions, as necessary
  • Utilizes a file tracking system (Protrack) and other systems to process QA issue reports
  • Uses a report generating tool or report template(s) for generating draft certifications
  • Finalizes certifications by making any necessary changes, uploading the final reports for archival, and pushing the reports out to an approved status in our Database
Education, Experience and Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Law or a closely related discipline
  • 2+ years of equivalent experience may be considered; Certification, formal training, or experience may also be evaluated and considered in lieu of educational requirements
  • Business School or Legal Assistant Certification preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an administrative or legal fieldi
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Must have the ability to communicate, both orally and written, with other members of the team and clients/prospective clients
  • Must have the ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently well to perform the duties of this position.
  • Must have the ability to handle and organize multiple projects and deadlines
  • Must demonstrate a high degree of attention to quality, details, and correctness
