Job summary

Lookers Motor Group Limited is seeking a commercially focused Division Assistant Accountant to support financial performance across our Essex dealership sites. The role focuses on analysing division performance, ensuring transactional accuracy and assisting with month-end close.

The ideal candidate will have accounting knowledge, experience in a commercial finance environment and an accountancy qualification or ongoing studies (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of accounting disciplines and controls.
• Experience supporting financial performance across multiple sites.
• Accountancy qualification or working towards is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Analyse financial performance across dealerships and divisions.
• Support month-end close and accuracy of transactional accounting.
• Assist Division Accountant and Senior Accounting Manager as required.

Division Assistant Accountant – Ford/Vauxhall

Location: Any Lookers Essex site (Chelmsford, Colchester, Braintree, Sudbury & South Woodham Ferrers)

Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 basic salary DOE

Hours: 37.5 (Monday-Friday 9-5pm)

We’re looking for commercially focused Division Assistant Accountants to support financial performance across our dealerships.

The Division Assistant Accountant will provide essential support to the Division Accountant and Senior Accounting Manager in managing the daily financial operations of the Division. The focus of this position is to analyse the financial performance of the Division, ensure the accuracy and integrity of all transactional accounting and assist with the month-end close. The role holder will be responsible for allocated dealerships within division.

What You’ll Bring

• A good understanding of the relevant accounting disciplines.
• Track record of good performance in a commercial finance environment.
• An Accountancy qualification or working towards is advantageous, but not essential: ACA, ACCA, CIMA (or equivalent body).
• Expert proficiency in MS Excel and strong working knowledge of the Motor Industry and Dealer Management systems
• Consistently demonstrates Lookers values.
