Job Description:

Operating Model:

  • Accountable for the effective functioning of Investment Operations, including Fund Accounting (Pricing, Transfer Agency, Financial Reporting), Box Management, Account Event Management (Portfolio restructure, Middle Office (Trade Processing, Regulatory Reporting, Cash Management)), fund launches, Benchmark updates, and Change Delivery.
  • Ensure effective Unit Pricing and Box Management with appropriate systems and controls to prevent errors.
  • Set and oversee policies, procedures, and processes for all Investment Operations activities across the Group, monitoring compliance.
  • Drive innovation and collaboration within Investment Operations to meet product demands, client expectations, and growth.

Third Party Management:

  • Manage operational oversight of relationships with Investment Managers, Fund Administrators, Custodians, Auditors, and Brokers, in collaboration with SJP’s Trustee and regulatory bodies, to maximize service value.

Development and implementation of the Investment Operational Strategy:

  • Design, prioritize, and steer investment operational change initiatives and regulatory projects.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with current and future investment propositions, working with senior leadership.
  • Optimize resources to enhance business efficiency within investment operations.

Governance, Risk Management and Oversight:

  • Ensure a robust risk and control environment, chair the Investment Operations Committee, and collaborate with Risk, Legal, and Audit functions.
  • Monitor and mitigate material risks impacting the Investment Division.
  • Represent the Operations function in governance forums, including breach and error management.
  • Build partnerships with stakeholders, including regulators and industry bodies.
  • Chair of Investment Operations Committee.

Who we’re looking for:

Extensive Investment Operations Leadership experience in asset management, with knowledge of Industry Operating Models:

  • Strong leadership skills managing multi-functional teams and fostering high performance.
  • Experience with high-net-worth investment services and third-party product management.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and innovation skills.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of writing reports, chairing committees, and explaining complex information.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

Special requirements:

This role is a Certification role under the Senior Managers and Certification Regime.
