Job summary

Bestway Group is seeking a General Manager to lead the Distribution Centre in the UK. You will have full P&L and site responsibility, directing warehousing and transport operations, people management, and compliance to drive performance and cost control.

The role requires a hands-on leader who balances strategic oversight with operational excellence, ensuring safety and high service levels in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Senior operational leadership experience in warehousing, wholesale, logistics, or distribution.
• Strong health & safety, transport compliance, and retail/warehouse legislation knowledge.
• Experience managing budgets and operating costs.
• Proven leadership and people management with ability to inspire and hold teams accountable.
• Highly organised with strong planning, prioritisation, and decision‑making.
• Proven track record of delivering customer service and satisfaction.
• Strong verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
• Resilient and adaptable, capable of leading in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and accountability for the Distribution Centre's KPIs.
• Lead warehousing and transport operations for efficiency and service.
• Ensure full compliance with DVSA, health, safety, and regulatory rules.
• Drive continuous improvement across people, processes, systems and costs.
• Own workforce planning, staffing levels and labour budgets.
• Develop and coach a high-performing management team.
• Ensure accurate performance reporting and productivity measurement.
• Oversee stock control and inventory accuracy.
• Maintain high housekeeping, hygiene, and site presentation.
• Represent site at leadership and business levels.
