Job summary

Simpson Judge in Liverpool and Wigan is seeking an ambitious solicitor to join its dispute resolution team. You will work closely with experienced litigators on a wide range of commercial dispute matters, gaining exposure to high-quality work.

The role is open to newly qualified and those with post-qualification experience, offering genuine career progression within a supportive culture and competitive salary.

Qualifications

• NQ+ with background from litigation (civil or commercial).
• Strong academic record and robust technical grounding.
• Interest in developing a career in commercial disputes.
• Confident communicator with client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with and managing a varied caseload of commercial litigation matters
• Working on disputes including breach of contract, shareholder/director issues, debt recovery, professional negligence and general business disputes
• Supporting on all stages of litigation, from pre-action through to trial and enforcement
• Drafting pleadings, witness statements, correspondence and legal research
• Attending client meetings, court hearings and mediations where appropriate
• Collaborating with colleagues across the wider firm to deliver effective client outcomes
• Supporting business development activities and maintaining strong client relationships

The Role

You will work closely with experienced litigators on a wide range of commercial dispute matters, gaining exposure to high-quality work while developing your technical and client management skills.

Key responsibilities include:

Assisting with and managing a varied caseload of commercial litigation matters

Working on disputes including breach of contract, shareholder/director issues, debt recovery, professional negligence and general business disputes

Supporting on all stages of litigation, from pre-action through to trial and enforcement

Drafting pleadings, witness statements, correspondence and legal research

Attending client meetings, court hearings and mediations where appropriate

Collaborating with colleagues across the wider firm to deliver effective client outcomes

About You
