About the opportunity

As a Dispenser working within one of our stores, you will be a key member of our pharmacy team supporting the pharmacist and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of pharmacy and healthcare services.

Within the healthcare department, you will build relationships with patients by listening and understanding their needs. Your responsibilities include greeting customers, dispensing prescriptions, ensuring the safe sale of medicines, and providing healthcare advice to support patients in making informed decisions about their health and wellness. You will make a difference every day.

This is an in-store role based in the UK. Remote applicants will not be considered, and applications from outside the UK will only be progressed if relevant UK qualifications and right to work can be confirmed and evidenced.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Dispensing prescriptions safely, including ordering medicines, labelling, endorsing, and collecting prescriptions.
  2. Collaborating with healthcare professionals in your store to manage and deliver pharmacy services.
  3. Providing care and advice to patients about medicines and referring queries to the Pharmacist as appropriate.
  4. Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to support the safe and legal dispensing of prescriptions.
  5. Keeping up to date with new innovations and complying with operational processes.
  6. Supporting patients in managing their prescriptions and medicines effectively to promote adherence and reduce waste.

Working with evolving technologies, you will have the opportunity to work with new systems to improve patient safety and efficiency, allowing more time for patient interaction.

You will receive regular training to develop your healthcare knowledge, with career development options, including training as a Pharmacy Technician or store leadership team member.

What you’ll need to have:

  • Completed the Pharmacy Advisor qualification NVQ2 (or equivalent) or currently working towards and have completed the first year of an MPharm qualification.
  • Current and valid UK right to work. This role is not eligible for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker Visa.

It would be great if you also have:

  • Experience working in community pharmacy.

Our benefits

  • Discretionary Christmas Gift Payment
  • Generous staff discount
  • Enhanced maternity/paternity/adoption leave pay and gift card for expecting or adopting parents
  • Flexible benefits scheme
  • Access to free, 24/7 counselling and support through TELUS Health, our Employee Assistance Programme.
