Role Details

The hourly rate for this role is £12.60 and up to £14.13 across selected locations within London. The hourly rate will increase after 6 months in role.

No previous experience is required, and full training will be provided.

About the opportunity

As a Trainee Dispenser working within one of our stores, you will be a key member of our pharmacy team, supporting the pharmacist and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of pharmacy and healthcare services.

While completing your Dispenser training (NVQ2), you will build strong relationships with patients by listening and understanding their needs. Your responsibilities include greeting customers, dispensing prescriptions, ensuring the safe sale of medicines, and providing health advice to support patients' wellness and informed decisions.

Key responsibilities:
  1. Complete your NVQ2 training in Healthcare services.
  2. Dispense prescriptions, ensuring the safe supply of medicines, including ordering, labelling, endorsing, and collecting prescriptions.
  3. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to manage and deliver pharmacy services.
  4. Provide care and advice to patients about medicines; refer queries to the Pharmacist as needed.
  5. Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to support safe and legal dispensing.
  6. Stay updated with new innovations and comply with operational processes.
  7. Support patients in managing their prescriptions and medicines effectively to promote adherence and reduce waste.
  8. Work with new technologies to improve dispensing processes, enhancing patient safety and efficiency.

You will receive regular training to expand your healthcare knowledge and have opportunities for career development, including training as a Pharmacy Technician or in store leadership.

Requirements:
  • Desire to learn and complete the Dispenser training programme (NVQ2).
Preferred experience:
  • Experience working in community pharmacy (optional but beneficial).
